Am 11. September wurden Franz
Beckenbauer und Theodor W. Adorno geboren. Beckenbauer beeinflusste den
Fußball, Adorno das Nachdenken über Ästhetik und den Erscheinungscharakter der
Kunst.
Seit der Attacke auf das World Trade Center in New York am selben Tag
weiß man nicht mehr, was zusammen passt. „100% Sicher“ ist außer den
geschaffenen Fakten nichts. Darin liegt auch die Relativität der Zeitdiagnose
von Peter Kees, der sich nicht auf die Tat, sondern auf das Geschehen, nicht
auf Erfahrung, sondern auf die Diskurse und Reaktionen bezieht, die der Attacke
folgten. Seine Arbeit richtet sich an ein vages kollektives Bewusstsein und
seine angenommene Angstproduktion.
Der Künstler sprengte Koffer, Taschen, Rucksäcke und filmte die
Explosionen.
September 11 is the birthday of
Franz Beckenbauer and Theodor W. Adorno. Beckenbauer influenced soccer, while
Adorno influenced the way we think about aesthetics and the phenomenal
character of art.
After the attacks on the World
Trade Center in New York which took place on the same day, it is no longer
clear what goes together. Nothing is “100% Secure” except for the fait accompli.
And therein lies the relativity of Peter Kees’ diagnosis of our time, a
diagnosis which focuses not on the deed but on the events, not on experience,
but on the discourses and reactions which followed the attacks. His work is
aimed at a vague collective consciousness and the fear which it is assumed to
produce.
The artist blew up suitcases, bags and backpacks and filmed the
explosions.
